Following the report by the Office of Fair Trading into schools uniform (published on 13 September 2006) the National Governors' Association has been working towards developing best practice guidelines for schools and uniform suppliers.

In developing the best practice guidelines our aim is to ensure that schools and suppliers are working to the same agreed principles in relation to school uniforms. This in turn will provide parents with best value in relation to school uniforms.

Using this website suppliers are invited to sign up to the Code of Practice and register so that schools will be able to check the status of companies.

NGA will also encourage schools to abide by the Code of Practice.
